Accommodation In Lancaster Town Centre
Penny Street Bridge is a magnificent building in the centre of Lancaster at the junction of Penny Street and Aldcliffe Road, overlooking the Lancaster Canal. Originally the Corporation Toll House, the building was demolished and re-built as two pubs, the White Cross Hotel and the Corporation Arms in 1901. It later became known as The Farmers Arms. Daniel Thwaites Brewery of Blackburn, Lancashire have since given the building a new lease of life in the form a full £2million refurbishment in 2007, making it into the contemporary, stylish bar, restaurant and hotel it is today.
The environment is clean, simple and eclectic with a splash of the contemporary, well-considered styling that an old building with charm deserves.
