About Lancaster
Penny Street Bridge is located in the centre of the historical city of Lancaster, formally the county town of Lancashire in the North West of England.
Lancaster's history can be traced back several thousand years. Each era has left some striking enhancement to the cosmopolitan city such as the imposing mediaeval Lancaster Castle, the classic Georgian architecture, the grand Victorian Cathedral or the wonderful folly of the Edwardian Ashton Memorial.
Lancaster is a vibrant and friendly university city with a good range of high street shops and independent boutiques. We have lots to do in your free time from outdoor pursuits, sports, theatre visits and cinemas, not to mention boating on the picturesque canal which runs right through the city.
The city of Lancaster is centrally located for visits to a wide variety of places in the North of England including the Lake District, the Trough of Bowland, Ribble Valley, Blackpool and the Fylde coast, Manchester, Preston and Liverpool.
